I can't get it to open, it won't respond, and I can't get it to uninstall. I did a search, tried everything I could. I downloaded the remove.reg and put it with the rest of my registry keys and deleted the chrome folder in the local user profile like Chrome told me to and that was supposed to take care of it but it didn't.
Restarted the computer and it's still not gone. Then only recognition I get is when I do Start/All Programs/Google Chrome/Uninstall Google Chrome a confirmation screen pops up and I click 'yes' and then nothing. It doesn't even pop up on my Task Manager. I don't want it anymore and I'm very tempted to just dump everything in the recycle bin (I know that doesn't solve the problem but I don't know what else to do).
People on the Chrome forum talk to people who need help like they're four year olds so I would just like to get this done with a clear, sure fire way to get rid of it. Thanks in advance.
I did just what you said and it didn't work. I restarted my computer and before I signed in the Microsoft logo came on a black screen and an update message was below it and all the files were from registry. After that I signed in and a message up top said it was loading my preferences. It took an achingly long time to load.
My computer is brand new, not even two months old, I shouldn't be having problems with it and I don't want to tinker with anything I don't have to that could possible damage it. It seems like the more I do to try and fix things the worse it gets. I'm sorry for complaining I really appreciate your help I just feel like I'm on a sinking ship and this isn't helping. I think I'm going to bring it in to someone to look at but I don't really know where to go. Geek Squad is a rip off and I don't think they deal with internal stuff anyway and it's an ASUS laptop so I definitely can't take it to the Apple 'geniuses'.
